KY-TN CPH Feeder Cattle Marketing Program
In 2005 area University of Tennessee Extension Agents and Specialists, along with University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Agents and Specialists joined forces to begin the KY-TN CPH Feeder Cattle Sale Program. The KY CPH Feeder Cattle Marketing Program has been in existence for over 20 years. The program has been tweaked and refined to be one of the premier preconditioned calf programs in the country. It has built a positive reputation for feeder cattle in our region with the feeding industry. Producer’s feeder cattle are commingled on sale day. This gives producers the marketing power and advantage of load lots or at least large groups. On average over the years, participants have been well rewarded for their efforts of weaning and preconditioning then marketing through these sales. Preconditioning feeder cattle adds value to each animal and this marketing program helps producers capture that value in additional dollars to their bottom line.
